About me:
Hello and welcome! Thanks for stopping by! My name is Rachel, and as of now I am eighteen years of age. I'm currently attending high school for a victory lap, as they say. I always planned on going into a medical profession, and thus needed the extra courses, but lately I'm doubting that direction. I guess I'm just going back now to fill up some extra time! I still have no idea what I want to do with my life, but I do know that I love the concept of true nature, by which I don't only mean the nature of a person, but further the nature of life, existence, being. If only more jobs were available to us philosophers! I also have a passion for health and well-being, justice, truth and honesty. I guess I'm trying to say (in my typical long-winded way) that I have NO idea what to make of myself! To describe myself, I have to describe what surrounds me. I am most definitely the perfect example of the balance between nature and nurture! I absolutely love to read, its one of the few things that I have always loved and will always love. When I was seven, my school teacher had a competition for her class to see who could read the most books over the span of the school year. I was the only student that struggled to learn how to read, eventually leaving me months behind my classmates. However I suppose my competitive drive came out in me then, and I made it my goal to win! Not only did I succeed, but I far surpassed any other student and more importantly instilled a love for literature in myself. I cherish the memory of Mrs. Kirmse, knowing that she helped greatly to influence who I am today. Another thing about me is that I'm really quite odd. I'm not saying that to garner any type of pity, rather, I'm stating it as matter-of-factly as I know how! I've always valued what others found unusual, and I feel most comfortable around the people others shun. I am intensely interested in anything psychic, spiritual or paranormal, and I harbor an intense love (obsession?) for fantasy. My interests there help to create my curiosity for religion, and further, for wiccanism and paganism. I may not be a practitioner, but I sure am intrigued by the idea! I've also always wanted to play DnD... what can I say? It'd just be too awesome if magic truly existed, and we hung out with elves all the time! In my spare time, I enjoy kundalini yoga, meditation, learning and playing video games. I also love to sleep and snuggle up in my bed! So warm! Oh, and just like any other girl I adore shopping. Money really does just burn a hole through my pocket. This is me!

Favorite Quotes:
Hope is the denial of reality. It is the carrot dangled before the draft horse to keep him plodding along in a vain attempt to reach it... still, we have to keep trying and hoping. That's what's important -- the trying and hoping. Maybe that's the most important of all. -Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman, DragonLance Chronicles Vol. 1 It is easy to have hope in the spring, warrior, when the weather is warm and the vallenwoods are green. It is easy to have hope in the summer, when the vallenwoods glitter with gold. It is easy to have hope in the fall when the vallenwoods are as red as living blood. But in the winter, when the air is sharp and bitter and the skies are gray, does the vallenwood die, warrior? -Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman, DragonLance Time of the Twins Miracles. Events with astronomical odds of occurring, like oxygen turning into gold. I've longed to witness such an event, and yet I neglect that in human coupling. Millions upon millions of cells compete to create life, for generation after generation until, finally, your mother loves a man. Edward Blake, the Comedian, a man she has every reason to hate, and out of that contradiction, against unfathomable odds, it's you - only you - that emerged, to distill so specific a form from all that chaos. It's like turning air into gold. A miracle. -Alan Moore, The Watchmen "No, I would not want to live in a world without dragons, as I would not want to live in a world without magic, for that is a world without mystery, and that is a world without faith." -R.A. Salvatore, Streams of Silver
